8 Things To Know If You Have No Clue What You're Doing In Life

We love complicating life, don’t we? Constantly comparing ourselves to people, underestimating ourselves and feeling low for no apparent reason. If you feel you’re not doing anything worthwhile in life, let us tell you why it is perfectly fine. This is all the motivation you need for today.

1. People around you may make you feel getting that ‘dream job’ is the ultimate aim in life, but that’s not how it works for a lot of people. Career isn’t everybody’s priority in life. Some people want to rule the world. And some people just want to earn enough to lead a comfortable life and focus on their inter-personal relationships, find true love. So, take it easy. Find what excites you – it doesn’t have to be a ‘career’.

2. It takes some people a moment to realize what their calling is. Some people need months, some people need years and some people, a whole lifetime. But the search is always worth it. Your life is your own story, different from everybody else’s. So, keep looking and believe that life is leading you where your heart belongs.

3. Don’t fret too much about the future. Plans never work. The ‘long run’ is a myth, it only exists in your head. Just do what you want to do right now and you’ll be good. Every road will lead you somewhere.

4. You will find yourself at crossroads several times, wondering how you suddenly feel so disconnected with something that felt ‘so right’ at one point in life, how what you always wanted to do in life doesn’t make you happy anymore. And that’s okay – happens to most of us. People change, people evolve. Accept that your interests have changed and stop hating yourself for it.

5. There is no urgency to find out the one true passion in your life. Who says you should know what you want to do by the time you’re in your late twenties? Don’t rush it because you think you’re running out of time. About sustaining yourself, you can always take up a job you don’t really hate and live a comfortable life, while exploring your interests. And, who knows you might just find your true passion one day when you’re least expecting it.

6. Maybe, the idea of ‘one true passion’ doesn’t even exist for some people. Everybody is wired differently. There are lot of people who want to do everything but cannot stay at one place for too long. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Some people just want to wander – from one place to another, from one passion to another. The idea is to be happy doing what you do. So, whatever sails your boat! Don’t think of how long your interest is going to last for. If something interests you now, it is worth taking up. If it makes you happy, go for it. If you’ve lived every day of your life happily, there can be nothing greater than that.

7. Not knowing what you’re doing with your life should never make you feel ashamed. Don’t feel bad because you don’t know yet, feel happy that there is something to look forward to in life. Imagine what it would be like to finally find the purpose of your existence!

8. It will always feel like you don’t have a clue about what you’re doing, where you’re heading, even if you’re on the right track. This how it’s supposed to be. This is how life is. It will never let you feel at ease, never let you have the assurance that you have it all sorted and that’s the beauty of it. Life has it’s own ways of surprising you. Embrace the unpredictability.

Hari Singh Got the Name of “Nalwa”

At the age of 14 he was only with the Maharaja for a few months when one day he was asked to accompany the Maharaja for a hunt.

As they entered the forest, suddenly a man eating lion jumped on him and threw him on the ground.
Hari Singh was completely caught unaware and did not even have the opportunity to draw his sword. But he got hold of the jaw of the lion and with great force flung the lion away, and withdrawing his sword, with one blow severed the lion’s head. The Maharaja and the other courtiers were extraordinarily amazed at this feat.

From that day onwards Hari Singh was given the appellation of “Nalwa” by the Maharaja, who acknowledged that Hari Singh had killed the lion similar to the way King Nall used to hunt (King Nall was a very brave king and was known for his audacity to kill lions and other dangerous animals with his bare hands, and hence the Maharaja adorned Hari Singh with that title i.e. “Nall-wa”- ‘like Nall’ )
