Nirbhaya: The Humanity Experiment

Around 2 years Ago: December 16th, She Sacrificed her Life. Nirbhaya's Friend said: " If a single person had helped me that night, Things would have been different" She sacrificed her Life to Awaken all of us but are we Awake ? Has Anything Changed ? Never Forget her Sacrifice.

This heartbreaking video will show you how least concerned are people about others. This needs to change for the sake of humanity, but only god knows when that day will come where people are ready to help strangers to show a little bit of humanity left in their characters.

Lessons for Life #81

In our lives there are some people who have a lot of impact on our lives for they are the one who shaped us into the person we are today. But as everything is bound to change and nothing is constant. The time comes when everything comes to an end, so does the company of these people in our lives. When these people leave us, our life seems to have come to a standstill for its hard to forget to someone who gave us so much to remember. But we must move on. We need to let them go but hold on to all the positive qualities/characteristics we gained from them and carry these with us. This is the way to honor them.

Hold On or Let Go

We are often let down by the most trusted people and loved by the most unexpected ones. Some make us cry for things that we haven’t done, while others ignore our faults and just see our smile. Some leave us when we need them the most, while some stay with us even when we ask them to leave. The world is a mixture of people. We just need to know which hand to shake and which hand to hold! After all the life is all about learning to hold on and learning to let go.
~Unknown.

It all depends on us about who we decide to hold on to and whom we let go. Sometimes we make wrong choices but in the end what matters is that if we have learned to differentiate between these two types of people.

Tzafar

“Tzafar” is a powerful short film directed by Nancy Spetsioti, a Greek filmmaker. The point of this film is showing racism is still a huge part of our society today, and it happens so often it’s considered normal. Parents Tell Their Daughter Not To Sit Next To This Man, But They Never Saw This Coming. It’s sad to see the way that some people are treated just because of the color of their skin. The message of this video is powerful and memorable at the same time.

The Ugly Truth

We all know that the wealth and power is not distributed equally on this earth and instead richest 1% have enough to influence and control others. 80% of the people on earth have only 16% percent of the total wealth and richest 2% have more wealth than half of the world.

Shockingly richest 300 people have same wealth as poorest 3,000,000,000 (3 billion). This gap has evolved with time and continues to grow. 200 years ago rich countries were only 3 times richer than the poor countries and now this factor has reached to unbelievably 80, i.e. today a group of countries are 80 times richer than the rest of the countries on this planet.

Watch this video to know why instead of help given by rich countries to others, the gap still keeps on increasing.

Sachin's Speech

For all those who have missed it, here it is. The speech given by him at the time of his retirement. You all must be knowing "Sachin Tendulkar". He is one of the greatest sportsperson, India will ever have, apart from being a great human being. And I bet you will agree with me after hearing his speech and seeing the response of the audience.

Lessons for Life #80

Revenge is for week. Revenge will always bring on your dark side which you probably don't wanna see for its bad for you and also others around you. Also if you decide to take revenge then you make people thing that you were affected badly.

Better is to forgive them and move on with your life. It shows you are strong and ready to leave those behind you. But you know what the best part is to ignore those who are not worth your time or thought. Intelligent people do that. You see the life is too short to have grudges against others and carry these grudges with you. :)

Ambulance

This video shows how the ambulance works in India vs other countries. Sad to say the term "Right of Way" for Ambulance is merely words in India and nobody seems to truly understand that. This video might help some people realize the bitter truth and change them for the good.

Respect these People

There are people out there that will tell you "YOU CAN'T", and the worse part is that you believe them for a reason that you don't even know. Have a look at the above video and next time you come across one of those who says to you "You Can't", ask them to "WATCH THESE". I am sure from that time on they will stop using those words in their life.

RESPECT to these heroes!

Let Go

Always know when to let go. When a thought is bringing you more misery than peace, let go of the thought; when a person is bringing more pain than joy to your life, let go. You cannot be your best if you lack joy and peace.
~ Brigitte Nicole

You cannot stick to a thing or person and be happy if it's not working out. Sometimes it is better to let go for the sake of everybody rather than holding onto them and be a misery.

What if Money was no Object?

Have a look at this awesome video by Alan Watts. He simple asks one question from all those students who came to ask him about what could they do in future. His question is definitely worth a thought and if you mull it over you could know what you really wanna do.

Lessons for Life #79

The word "YOU" only belongs to a person in the childhood or at max till his teen years for after that the person is not usually himself and all the person tries to become is what others want of him. And as soon as he walks on that path the word "YOU" no longer suits him/her. From that point onwards the person becomes something else and all the individuality fades away. Then person is nothing more than a puppet.

So you might wanna hold the title "YOU" if you don't want to end up as one of those puppets. Be YOU and then the adjustment needs to be done by others if they want to be around "YOU". :)

Enough is Enough

Seriously, be strong and know when enough is enough. Take your stand, speak up and refuse to let others hurt you. Throughout your lifetime some people will discredit you, disrespect you and treat you poorly for no apparent reason at all. Don’t consume yourself with trying to change them or win their approval. And don’t make any space in your heart to hate them. You don’t have control over what others think about you, but you do have control over how you decide to internalize their opinions. Leave them to their own judgments. Let people love you for who you are, and not for who they want you to be. Or let them walk away if they choose. They can’t harm you either way; it’s their understanding that is faulty, not yours.

Lessons for Life #78

Most of the people on this earth complain that they don't have enough and want more of it. But the simple fact that these people ignore is how much they have that many others don't. You see everything is relative in this world for almost everyone. No matter how far/top you reach there will always be two of people in the world:- the ones who are below you and the others who are above you.

Complaining about the thing you don't have will not bring any good, rather be thankful for the things you have and acknowledge them. This will bring in you the feeling of satisfaction and also will lay down the foundation for all abundance. This way you would be more happy.

Lessons for Life #77

We always have something to be going on in our lives, a task, a goal, an aim etc. That may be small or big, may require time anywhere between few seconds to years. But on the way of completing the  task you might think or feel the ending is not coming. The important think to remember is how far we have come, what all we have faced, the battles we have won and the fears we have overcome to reach this spot. These all things are enough to motivate ourselves to go further and reach our final objective.

If you decide to give up now, then all the things you have achieved up till now would be in vain. So think twice before giving up at the moment. If you give up you will never know how close you were and you may end up regretting it for the rest of your life. :)

Lessons for Life #76

You all may know that diamond and coal both contain carbon but diamond has to undergo a lot of natural processes including heat. pressures among others to reach to its final form. So you see change is important if we want to get extraordinary results.

The more change we undergo the better results we get. The changes may include daily task or difficulties we face for they are equivalent to heat and pressure the substance has to face to reach a state which is known as diamond.

Change is constant and sooner we realize that the better. :)

Boys need to be taught different.

From the childhood the boys are taught that "Boys don't cry". This somehow make them think that they are superior to women and are stronger then them and can do whatever they want. So this thinking often leads them to use violence in their house with their wife.

They simple fact which can be revisited in childhood days to change this is to teach the boys that "Boys don't make others cry". You see the things we see in our childhood days have a lot of impact and influence on us. So the childhood is the only the good time to start with this change and teach boys a different lesson.

Lessons for Life #75

So we have reached another milestone, this is the 75th lesson. But still there are a lot more to come. You often have heard things that are carried down the generations and we are supposed to follow those beliefs or sayings for there was reason that those beliefs were established by our ancestors in the first place.

If we pay attention or give these sayings or beliefs a thought then we can somehow understand that these are correct as they were developed on the basis of lifetime experiences. Experience is a thing which we gather along our life and if someone has experienced a thing then we ought to at least listen and think what they have learned over time.

Finally coming to one of those saying. It says that love is the most important thing in the life and you should accept the fact rather than waiting and wasting for your whole life just to see in the end that the saying was true. Love doesn't have any cost and you don't need to trade it for something, rather spread it for what goes around comes around. Apart from that there is also a saying- "As you sow, So shall you reap". So from now on you might wanna use love as answer to each and every question. :)

Think Twice

If a person wants to be a part of your life, they will make an obvious effort to do so.  Think twice before reserving a space in your heart for people who do not make an effort to stay. You don't wanna waste time for the people who don't want you in their life but the people who want you in theirs are worth giving a shot.

Its not Who but What and How

Ajay Singh Banga stands out as The Only SIKH Indian in Fortune’s ’2014′s Top People in Business’ list! MasterCard President and CEO Ajay Banga reflects on how being a member of the turban-wearing Sikh minority from India has impacted his business career and personal life in the United States. He spoke at Stanford Graduate School of Business' View From The Top speaker series on April 24, 2014.

Hear this amazing interview with Ajay Singh Banga as he reflects on having success as a minority in America and overcoming discrimination by "dealing with it, not hiding from it."What he says is it doesn't matter who you are but what matters is what and how you do things in your life that defines you.

Ajay Singh Banga Brings Pride stands out as The Only Sikh Indian in Fortune’s ’2014′s Top People in Business’ list. MasterCard president and CEO, Ajay Singh Banga is the only Sikh Indian to make it in Fortune’s ’2014′. Mr Banga, who studied economics at Delhi University’s St. Stephen’s College and received his MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad ranked number 28 in the list. He spent 13 years of his working life with Nestle India before moving to PepsiCo, Citigroup and eventually MasterCard which he joined in 2009.

To hear him talk philosophically about a “world beyond cash,” he sounds more like a Silicon Valley futurist than a payment-processing executive. The first thing you notice about Banga, 54, is the thick black beard on his face and the elegant black turban atop his head. The turban is central to Sikhism (Banga was raised Sikh in Pune, India, the son of a retired Indian military general) but is a rare sight in U.S. boardrooms. In a graduation speech at New York University’s Stern School of Business in June, Banga conceded as much: “I tend to stand out in a room,” he said. “Turbans and beards will do that to you.”

A Man who is as firm on his mission as on his religion gathers great respect & pride from every Indian and Sikh community!

Be with Someone who is Proud of You

Be with someone who is proud of you, someone you can laugh with, someone who listens to you, understands you, who treats you well and makes you a priority for there are only a few who are really proud of you. So remember to them and don't take them for granted.

Lessons for Life #73

You all must have heard the word: STRENGTH. Ever wondered what it means or denotes? It doesn't roam around Success and doesn't come from winning. The hardships and struggle we face everyday help us develop our strengths.

When we fail we try harder and that is strength. When we decide not to surrender, that is strength. So basically try harder and overcome the struggles to gain more strength. And more you get it the more chance of being successful. So strength leads to success and not the other way round.

Incredible Decade for MAHI

Ten years ago, MS Dhoni made his international debut for India in an ODI against Bangladesh at Chittagong. He didn't have the best of starts as he was run out for a first ball duck but then he got into the groove and shattered records. Here are some unbelievable records and numbers associated with MS Dhoni:

1. Dhoni holds the unique distinction of leading India to most wins across all three formats – Tests, ODIs and Twenty20 Internationals. He is the only captain to do so in all the three formats. He also has the highest win percentage as an Indian captain in Tests and ODIs. (Tests - 27 wins, ODIs - 93 wins, T20Is - 26 wins) (Win % - 56.02 % in ODIs, 45.76% in Tests)

2. Dhoni is the only captain to lead India in more than 50 Tests (59). The next on the list in Sourav Ganguly with 49.

3. Dhoni is the most successful captain in the T20Is across countries. He has won the most number of matches as a captain - 26. The next in the list is William Porterfield of Ireland with 20 wins.

4. Dhoni currently possesses the highest score by a wicketkeeper-batsman in ODIs - 183* which he scored against Sri Lanka at Jaipur in 2005.

5. Dhoni is the only captain to score a century at no. 7 in ODIs. He achieved this feat in 2012 when he scored 113* off 125 balls against Pakistan in Chennai. He also has the highest score by a no.7 in ODIs - 139 for Asia XI against Africa XI in Chennai in 2007.

6. Dhoni holds the Indian record of most dismissals as a wicketkeeper in both Tests, ODIs and T20Is (285 in Tests, 306 in ODIs, 36 in T20Is)

7. Dhoni is the only Indian wicketkeeper to have scored a double century in Tests. He achieved this feat against Australia in 2013 in Chennai where he scored 224 off 265 balls. In doing so, he also registered the highest individual score by an Indian captain in Tests.

8. Dhoni holds the record of fastest century by an Indian wicketkeeper in Tests. He achieved this feat against Pakistan in Faisalabad in 2006 where is scored his maiden Test century off just 93 balls. Overall, he is the third fastest in test cricket by a wicketkeeper/batsman.

9. As a captain, Dhoni holds a record for longest unbeaten run in tests from his debut, 11 tests (8 wins and 3 draws).

10. Dhoni averages a staggering 103 in successful run chases in ODIs. This is the best average amongst the players to have scored a minimum of 1000 runs in successful run chases. He has scored two centuries and 14 fifties in successful run chases.

11. Dhoni is the only captain to have bagged all three ICC trophies. In 2007 won the World T20; in 2011, he lifted the World Cup and in 2013, he won the Champions Trophy. He also the lifted the ICC Test championship mace in 2009.

Lessons for Life #72

You will agree with me on this. One cannot control everything in his life or around him. There are few things beyond that. People are one of those things. You definitely cannot control them. Just do your work and keep moving. You cannot drag others with you for the journey you travel is only yours. Others can accompany you for some duration but they cannot be with you whole the time.

So if someone is meant to be with you at a certain point of your journey then they will catch up with you at that moment.

Keep Moving..!!!

Happy New Year

Looking back on the months gone by,
As a new year starts and an old one ends,
We contemplate what brought us joy,
And we think of our loved ones and our friends.
Recalling all the happy times,
Remembering how they enriched our lives,
We reflect upon who really counts,
As the fresh and bright new year arrives.
And when I ponder those who do,
 I immediately think of you.

Thanks for being one of the reasons I'll have a Happy New Year!
